The Gojong Center: A Legacy of Visionary Leadership
The Gojong Centre is named after Emperor Gojong, the 26th ruler of the Korean Empire. During his reign, Gojong oversaw a period of rapid modernization and transformation in Korea, as the country navigated the challenges of colonialism, imperialism and globalization. The Center is founded on the principles of Gojong's leadership: vision, innovation, and a commitment to the well-being and security of the country.
Gojong is one of Asia's first Defense Relations Centers. Since its founding, Gojong has actively conducted research and organised conferences on international defense relations. Gojong also serves as a platform for South Korea's domestic defense industry to connect, collaborate, and contract with foreign partners. Our mission is to promote and develop South Korea's defense industry by facilitating mutually beneficial partnerships and fostering a spirit of cooperation and innovation.
Our Vision
We envision a robust and resilient defense industry not just for South Korea but its partners, capable of meeting not only the national and regional security needs but also to economic growth and development. We believe that by bringing together the best minds and expertise, we can create a thriving ecosystem that drives innovation, improves capabilities, and enhances security.
